Driving is causing to obesity?

The researchers say the long time spent behind the wheel, especially more than an hour a day, is associated with the obesity of central part of the body and increases the risk of heart-metabolic problems. As the report of Salamat News, quoting the Mehr, researches have revealed that people who drive an hour or more per day compared to people who drive 15 minutes or less, are 2.3 kg heavier and have 1.5 cm more round waist. According to researchers of Institute of Health and Aging at the Catholic University in Australian, comfort and convenience of traveling by car have a significant impact on public health. According to Takmy Sugiyama, the head of this research team, men more than women are at risk of overweight caused by driving. In this study, the driving habits of 2800participants studied in the study of "Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle» in Australia were assessed against health measures such as body mass index, waist circumference, blood glucose during fasting, and range of cardio-metabolic risk factors. The findings this study show those people that had drove more than an hour in a day (about a quarter of those present) compared with participants who drove 15 minutes or less in a day likely have greater body mass index to 0.8 and waist circumference to 1.5 cm.
